
Bagdad High School’s Kentucky High School State Basketball Tournament team (1952)
Prior to the consolidation of the Shelby County schools, the only county high school which sent a team to the Kentucky High School State Basketball Tournament was Bagdad High School. The 1952 Bagdad Tigers won the 8th Regional Tournament by defeating LaGrange, 60-46, in the finals. Prior to that the Tigers slipped by Carrollton, 42-40, and Milton, 89-62. In the 30th District tournament, Bagdad defeated Waddy, 72-38, and edged Simpsonville, 59-56, in overtime.
