Shelby County High School’s Kentucky State High School Basketball Tournament team (1978)

The 1978 Shelby County Rockets, guided by Tom Creamer, defeated Covington Holmes in overtime to win the state high school basketball title.

The team included, front row, left to right, kneeling, Arthur Sullivan, James Rockwell, Don Murphy, Mark Ashby, Gerry Davis, Kevin Armstrong.

Back row, left to right, Coach Creamer, Mike George, Norris Beckley, Austin Lee, Robert Davis, Charles Hurt, Pat Marshall, Maurice Way, Charlie Lecompte, Dale Kennedy.

Coaches Marnell Moorman and Ron Kuhl are not pictured.
