Honoring Those Who Serve
A project of the Shelby County Historical Society
COST PER FLAG – $50
Honor and forever remember your special Veteran (currently serving or having served) by purchasing a flag for $50. Cost covers price to print and shipping charges.

Help us honor our Veterans for giving us 250 years of freedom and many more years to come!!!
- More information about your beloved Veteran can be added to a QR code placed on the flag. The QR code will direct you to a landing page on the Shelby County Historical Society website where you will be able to view all Veterans and their information. The collected information will be complied into a database for future Veteran projects by SCHS. An additional form will need to be filled out. This can be accessed digitally on our website or by emailing the Executive Director.
- Take it to the next level – Another $25 donation will get you a membership in the Shelby County Historical Society with special benefits, including our quarterly newsletter, The Gazette, special invites to Members-Only events, advance notice of publications, projects, events and programs. $75 for flag & a 1-year paid membership.
Flags will be placed throughout the county at sites to be determined and at specific times of the year. SCHS will assume all responsibility of storing flags when not displayed.
What we need from you:
- VETERAN NAME & RANK
- BRANCH OF SERVICE
- PHOTO: Please provide the best quality photo possible. Service photos are preferred if you have one – the better quality/size, the clearer the image on the flag (enlarging a photo can sometimes make them appear blurry). These can be scanned and emailed to our office at director@shelbykyhistory.org, or dropped off at our office for us to scan.
- PAYMENT: Please make all checks payable to the Shelby County Historical Society and mail to P.O. Box 444, Shelbyville, KY 40066 along with the above info on your Veteran. We also accept cash or Paypal on our website: www.shelbykyhistory.org.
For more info contact the SCHS at (502) 513-5555 or director@shelbykyhistory.org Wed. – Friday, 10 am – 4 pm, Saturday 10 am – 2 pm. If office is closed, please call or text (502) 487-0379.
