Come and meet some of the 25 authors who have contributed to the Shelby County Historical Society’s latest publication, Legacy of Refinement: Science Hill Female Academy, Science Hill Inn, Wakefield-Scearce Galleries during Wakefield-Scearce Galleries’ Christmas Open House. This special magazine is devoted to the teachers, students, programs, events, academic education, and the era of Science Hill’s reign. Preserved today through Wakefield-Scearce Galleries, the legacy of Science Hill is well-deserving of this publication.
Authors will be on hand to sign copies of the magazine from 10 am – 4 pm. The magazine contains over 30 articles, each one giving a glimpse of Science Hill from a different angle. Get your copy and learn about the importance of this prestigious all-girls school founded in Shelby County in 1825 by Julia Tevis. This is a rare opportunity to visit the place where it all began and see the splendor of Wakefield-Scearce Galleries decorated for the holidays.
