
Shelbyville City Council (1955)
The Shelbyville City Council was sworn in on January 3, 1955. Noteworthy was the appearance, far left, of Lee Nor Mack, first African-American elected since Thomas Baxter in 1892. Others include, from the left, Joe Dedman, Sam Liss, Jeptha B. Tracy, Circuit Judge Coleman Wright, Mayor Jesse Puckett, Harry Long, and Herman Atlas.
