Stop by during Shelbyville’s Celebration of Lights (3 – 8 pm on November 8th) for the Shelby County Historical Society’s Holiday Open House! You’ll find our latest publication for sale, Legacy of Refinement: Science Hill Female Academy, Science Hill Inn, Wakefield-Scearce Galleries and meet some of the 25 authors who contributed (from 3 – 6 pm); be able to see our current exhibit about Science Hill, The Leadership of Educated Women (only up until the end of the year); visit with Revolutionary War era individuals Thomas Jefferson and Betsy Ross (courtesy of Living Statues) from 4 – 6 pm, and enjoy light refreshments and hot apple cider. Learn about our upcoming plans to celebrate America’s 250th birthday and how you can become involved.
