2023 Historical Ball

The Shelby County Historical Society will host an historical ball to celebrate the placement of the Lafayette Trail marker in honor of the Marquis de Lafayette’s 1825 visit to Shelbyville. In the enclosed historic courtyard, historical dance caller Tom Tumbusch will lead guests through authentic dances of the period accompanied by three live musicians performing music of the day. Come dressed in the style of whatever period you wish, including the current one. Complimentary light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar will be available serving beer, wine, and spirits. There will be areas to change clothes near by and parking is in the rear of the building or on the street. Proceeds support the Shelby County Historical Society. Special thanks to Matt Burnett for donating the use of Wakefield-Scearce Gallery for the evening.
