Franklin Bell honored<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The family of General J. Franklin Bell was honored by townspeople in June of 1903 following his triumphant return from service with the Philippine Expeditionary Force, 1898-1902. Here he appears in front of the George A. Armstrong home on West Main Street. <br><br>Gen. Bell was born in Shelby County on Jan. 8, 1856 and died in 1919 after distinguishing himself in the Philippines and World War I.
